ETTP: K-25 Free Release
K-25 Site Free Release Survey
September 1999
The team performed a "free release" survey at the East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP), formerly known as the K-25 Site. The survey was part of an innovative rollback program being conducted at ETTP. This program is intended to remove a number of existing buildings from radiological controls such that they can be free for other uses. The survey was to include a minimum of 10% of the areas designated.
Highlights of the survey included:
5 major buildings, 26 trailers, and a minor building comprising more than 180,000 gross square feet and 135,000 net square feet. Surveyed 15% of the net area, recording and documenting nearly 1.5 million measurements. Final Report submitted ahead of schedule.
